Well that went well, didn’t it? Yesterday we launched our Digital Notebook, a one-stop shop of resources, tips and tools to support your freelance journalism career.
It is a new venture in conjunction with xTiles and our first dip into the world of apps. In the notebook we share templates for pitching, invoicing and logging expenses. We’ve also pooled together our most popular podcast episodes and lists of networking resources.
On top of all that we have checklists for all your freelancing needs, plus top tips to achieve the life-work balance you desire. We hope this will be a valuable resource and we will be regularly adding to it.
Problem is, we currently have way too many balls in the air. The summer holidays are approaching fast and we have a big project to finish, plus a heap of deadlines to meet, plus we are running a very long way this weekend (which will also double up as an FFJ planning meeting).
So when we put yesterday’s newsletter together to celebrate the launch of the Digital Notebook we added the wrong link. Twice. This was very much a FFS moment once we realised!
Huge apologies for the error. We dropped a ball, and although it is extremely embarrassing we hope it serves to prove we are human and we do mess up too. Maybe the lesson here is to own up to your mistakes, learn from them (we have triple checked the links in today’s newsletter) and move on.
So if you are wondering what all this is about, check out our new digital app here.
Let us know what you think and if there are any vital resources you would like us to add!
We love to hear your feedback on everything we do, so feel free to drop us an email anytime at freelancingforjournalists@gmail.com
Bye for now!
