An exciting newsletter this week - it is time to announce the shortlist for the Freelance Journalism Awards 2024!
The FFJ team did a lot of reading/watching/listening and then had a very long meeting to whittle down the shortlist for this year’s nine categories. These have now gone to our independent judges to make the final verdict. We will announce the winners in the newsletter on Wednesday 3rd July.
As with last year it was a really tough job just getting this far. Overall, the quality was extremely high and once again highlights how editors and publications rely on freelancers for amazing news stories, features and investigations. Some of the categories (looking at you features and specialist journalist) had a huge number of stunning entries. So thank you to all who put themselves forward and if you didn’t make the shortlist this time, please do try again next year!
A big thanks to Cision, our headline sponsor for the awards. We’re very grateful for their ongoing support which means we can keep celebrating the amazing things you are all doing. So without further ado, here is the shortlist for 2024.
