When it comes to the crunch we know that our loyal Premium newsletter subscribers are super keen to hear about our finances. From our annual rates, to how we pay our taxes, to how to earn £6,500 in one month.
These are always our most popular posts and we get it. As freelance journalists we want to gauge how much our colleagues are earning so we are able to price ourselves accordingly. It can also be reassuring to hear how high (or low) another freelancer is being paid. It means we have something to aspire to, or know that we are not being exploited.
In today’s newsletter I am going to be sharing how much I get paid for three different types of articles: product reviews, deep dive features, and travel stories (with photos). These articles have been published online, in a printed magazine and in an international newspaper.
I will also explain how long they took to research and write, and therefore whether the rate was an effective time to money ratio.
Read on to find out how much I get paid per article.
